The letter was sent to many churches. It had no effect but confusion to pastors IMHO. The one pastor who called me about it was convinced that it was from a JW. I told him it must be some sort of a hoax.
That is a shame because there was much good information in that letter. Had it been more forthright instead of cryptic, it could have educated churches about what JW's are really like. Instead, it probably just went in the garbage can.

Is it okey to express your love for Jesus currently as a Jehovah's witness?
by Kosonen inis it okey to express your love for jesus as a jehovah's witness?.
it should be, even though it would lift some eyebrows in the congregation.
let's see what jesus said:.

Of course not.
JW's have an uncanny inability to follow even the simplest of instructions.
1. When Jesus got baptized, the father from heaven (Jehovah) said, "this is my son, my beloved. LISTEN TO HIM.
2. Jesus said, Come to me and I will give you rest.
3. Jesus commanded followers to enter into and agreement with him "for the forgiveness of sins". (Mt. 26: 27-28)
So, what do JW's do?
1. The do not listen to Jesus but prefer to listen to Jehovah in the OT
2. The do not come to Jesus, they go to Jehovah instead.
3. They ritually reject Jesus' new covenant "for the forgiveness of sins" every Memorial, making it a merry occasion.

so reading through I didn't see anything about Mothers day AT ALL.....based on this could a JW based on his own conscience (and this article) celebrate mother's day guilt free??
tresdecu,
Mother's Day was a "no no" in our home growing up.
You can access the whole article by clicking of the descriptive word "Jackasses" in my OP. The basic argument is that we should be worshipping Jehovah as father and the WT Org. as Mother. The article clearly states that the command to : "honor thy father and thy mother" applies to Jehovah and the WTBTS, Inc (the organization). The WT clearly taught that Satan, in his anger because of the birth of God's Kingdom (which no one can see except on the pages of WT publications), tempted Christendom into establishing a day to honor our Mothers.
This satanic ploy to divert attention away from our Mother Church wont work for JW's though. They are too smart to fall for this obvious Satanic machination. They have the WT to keep them from being deceived. The reality is that the WT has done everything to weaken family bonds so that the family can be called up as a weapon, when eventually needed, against a member who gets out of line and questions "mother church".
Ironically, the whole concept of a "mother church" is very Roman Catholic:
"Roman Catholics refer to their church as the “Holy Mother Church” or, in Latin, “Sancta Mater Ecclesia.” In fact, Catholics pinpoint the Diocese of Rome, specifically the Basilica of the Savior or St. John Lateran, as the official “mother church.”
The term Holy Mother Church refers to the Roman Catholic Church in many places in literature. Cervantes’ Don Quixote (Chapter XXVII), and -

Sea Breeze since you say you stopped believing the WT when you "turned around 14 or 15" does that mean you never got baptized as a JW?
Baptized at age 24 after being on my own. I didn’t believe or trust any JW elder or GB but I still believed the theology.
I figured the people running the org was the best Jehovah could do.
I remember my JW girlfriend asking her 5 year old niece what would happen to worldly people at Armageddon. The toddler answered, “They will be destoyed”.
She had trouble saying her “r”s. It was so “cute” the she asked her a few times just to her say , “destoyed”. It gave me the creeps.
True story.

What are the benefits of doubts?
by psyco inwhat are the benefits of having created the human mind being able to have doubts inside (or regarding) the true religion (jude 22)?.
because if you have doubts, you are not sure, so it is difficult to believe and trust.
and if it is difficult to believe and trust, it is even more difficult to have faith since it is the "assured" expectation of what is hoped for (hebrews 11:1).

I doubt there is any real benefit.

When I turned around 14 or 15 (1977 or 78) I no longer believed the WT because of the false prophecy for 1975. So, I tried making some friends in the neighborhood. I would come home around 8 or 9 pm (not late) and everything from my bedroom would be in the front yard.... clothes, matttress everything. Happened at least twice.
Those evil worldlings were stealing their son.

My mothers grandmother (first ancestor JW) immigrated to the USA from Sicily about the time this Precursor to the Awake magazine was written. It seems like something from Mad magazine.
